Hi Laura,
I thought you might enjoy this picture of Barley the Rangers fan. He is still working with me at school, and doing a fabulous job of rewarding and comforting kids as well as helping with reading practice for beginning readers. We had a Texas Rangers day on the first day of the World Series, and Barley showed his spirit. He's posing with some of his fellow Kinsler fans. I hope this email finds you doing well. Take care!

Barley's Mom

Hi Laura,
You haven't heard from me in a long time. I've taken some photos of Claire as shaggy dog in her service dog vest, summer weight, and also in a short clip with the vest. Such a beautiful dog. Here are some of the things she now can do. She knows the following commands: Sit, stay, down back up, left, right, change sides, leave it, stop, "help Mommy," other side, no barking, go get the bird, go get Rosebud (my eighteen year old parrot), get up in the car, back seat, and get in the shower. I know there are more, but I hope to remember them as I go along. Help Mommy has been a lifesaver. As I've become less mobile I am now always in a wheelchair. It's often difficult to get up from bed. If I call "Come help Mommy," Claire comes quickly to my side. I have no balance and she serves as my balance. She chooses the side initially, but if it's the wrong side, I tell her other side and she runs to that side and sits. I tell her to come closer and she will do so in increments until, if I need it, she has two feet up on my bed. I can then get my balance by putting my arms around her neck. She will back up on command very slowly until I am sitting. She remains at my side until I am into my wheelchair. I have four pet birds, including the parrot, two tiny diamond doves, and one canary. She taught herself that if the little birds get out she waits until they tire themselves out flying around and end up on the floor. She runs to the bird and puts both front legs around the bird and her head over the bird, just boxing them in gently. That gives me time to come get the bird. The birds are rarely tempted to get out of their cages because they know Claire can get them. Rosebud is different. She's big and aggressive. An Eclectus parrot. The females of this species are known for their temper and aggression, which is needed in the wild to protect their babies from snakes and lizards and other birds. Even hand raised female Eclectus parrots retain these characteristics. In the Spring, Rosebud, who is normally out on my shoulder and is fine with me, becomes a potential mother parrot. She wants to get off my shoulder and look for a nesting place. I can tell before she decides to jump to the floor. Usually, if I tell her, "Stay on my shoulder or I will call Claire, she will straighten up and stay on my shoulder. If she chooses to get down, I call Claire, and Claire finds her and does the dog play bow and barks. Rosebud get agitated and runs at Claire, who is not intimidated. A frightened Rosebud then runs to me. Claire's reward is that she gets to smell Rosebud. A large part of her duties are centered around keeping me safe in my home and when I am out. She goes everywhere to me, to the movies, out to eat, to the doctor's office, the grocery store. She is on so many people's cell phone photo sections. She's amazing. Thank you so much. I've attached some photos of her and her yard, which she loves. I exercise her with my scooter as we do errands around town and also in the lovely large park the town owns. Love, Pam Higdon and Claire P.S. The large bone is a gift from the local butcher. She gets raw cow bones often and that keeps her teeth clean.

Dear Laura
I just wanted to quick let you know we're having a ball with our pups. Quantz and his little sister Pepper are living it up. We're so pleased with our cuties in every way.

Here is Haze. He is Midge and Jock's pup. 5 months old in this picture. Loves his family!

Here is Ginger. She lives in Coppell with her wonderful family! Enjoying the pool life!

Dear Lara,

This is Lucy Mae with her Dad! Had to send you this pic…we LOVE our precious one and thank you for maintaining the integrity of this wonderful breed of dogs. We cannot imagine life without her. I am sure you recall how tentative we were because of our horrible previous experiences. I can’t tell you how many people I have told about your web site. By the way, the 45 pound girl is a 55 pound girl! Hope you and your family are well.

Best regards, Lucy's mom

Here are 2 Lake Country Doodles. Kayla is a first generation doodle of Maggye and Teddy, and Carley is Suzy's and Yukon's! They are great friends/sisters in New York!

Hi all, just want to keep you all in the loop on how everyone's doing. carley (bree) is about 40lbs, (still pretty small next to my gentle giant kayla). she's extremely smart and fun loving. i refer to her as the 'class clown' always doing something silly...loves stuffed toys, plays frisbie and for some strange reason is fascinated with sticks and leaves. oh, and she's a total kisser. ask her for a kiss and she doesn't stop til you turn away. she's falling right in step with kayla's habits and just loves her big sis. kayla showed her the ropes and recently went with carley for her first grooming. the only thing she really doesn't care for is riding in the car, which i'm not sure why but it seems to upset her...doesn't make it further than a 15min ride without throwing up (we're working on that). in any case, attached are some pictures...hope you enjoy them! thanks again, we are one happy doodle family! the house feels vibrant again :-)

Regards,
Carley & Kayla's Mom

Hello Laura,

Hope all is well. We wanted to give you an update on Cooper (Coop) and send you a few pics. He is such a sweet dog, very smart, and a little mischevious at times. He really likes to give hugs!! He now weighs 36 lbs. and is 5 months old. He enjoys playing ball, going for walks, and playing with (they call it terrorizing) the cats. We are so blessed to have him!!!

Thanks,
Cooper's parents!

Hi Laura,

I know you haven't heard from us in a long time.... I wanted to let you know that the doodle pictured w/ the 2 kiddos on the most recent "mini doodler's" newsletter from Evie Witwer is Kashie, all grown up! She is a fabulous, fabulous dog and is VERY spoiled!!! She follows me around the house every morning that I'm not working (I'm substitute teaching these days) waiting for her 3-4 mile walk. She goes with us in the car at every opportunity and everyone just loves her. We are always getting comments on her beautiful color and how calm she is. For fabulous doodles, I refer people to you all at every opportunity!! We check out the website often, just to see who is having puppies and what they look like :-)

I hope this finds you well. Have a great day!

Laura,

I wanted to update you with some cute pictures of West.  I can't tell you what an amazing little boy he is and how he has helped to heal my broken heart.  I still have days of extreme sadness over losing my other dog, but West is right there to give me all of the love I need.  Everyone who meets him is amazed at how calm and well behaved he is and how cool he is.  He is the kind of guy that everyone wants to hang out with.  His new friends love him and he loves them.  He also likes to be congratulated when he goes to the bathroom.  He comes running back with a huge smile on his face like he just made a home run.  We go for walks every night and also throw the ball - a skill he is still working on.  He loves running after it........just bringing it back to me seems to be tricky.  But we still try every night and he is too cute even when he doesn't make it back with the ball.  Thank you so much for this incredible gift and I will update you again with more news and photos.  He is just the perfect little friend. I hope all is well with Lake Country and that Mopsy and the rest have found loving and happy homes.

With so much gratitude,
West's Mom

Hi, Laura,

I sent you an e-mail a while back giving you an update on Daisy. I hope you received it. I had wanted to meet you while I was in Texas, but didn’t hear back so… Anyhow, Daisy is wonderful. She has grown so beautifully. She was recently groomed. I am keeping her hair short this summer as she is a true water dog. She loves the water, and I am taking her and Cody to a doodle romp on Saturday at a water park. Cody isn’t as much of a water dog. Here is a picture I took today:

Isn’t she stunning?

Hugs,
Daisy's Mom

Hi This is our Princess! We just wanted to send you a recent picture and let you know that we love her. She is so wonderful, funny and loves to play with the girls. We are having so much fun with her. She is 4 months old in this picture. She is lounging on the back porch.

Laura,

I wanted to share with you some photos of Siena. We are having so much fun with her! She is doing really well. She loves her kennel and runs in there anytime we say "kennel up!". It did not take long at all to house break her. She loves taking walks, and will play fetch until we can't throw it any more. There's a family down the street from us that got a lab puppy around the same time we got Siena, so they've become friends and frequently chase each other around the front yard. She has a really funny little personality. Whenever we're out on a walk, we get people who stop and ask if she's a labradoodle. Several have said they've been thinking of getting one, and we always tell them about you.

Hope all is well!
Michael

Hi Laura!

I am finally sending some pictures of Snickers.  We absolutely LOVE her and are so thankful in meeting you through Libby!  She is such a great dog with a wonderful personality.  Also, I know that a friend of ours has either contacted you or will be contacting you.  They love Snickers and are looking to add another dog to their family sometime this year. If and when they come out there, maybe I will come with them.

Thanks again!!!!!

Hi Laura,

I just wanted to send you some new photos of Oscar. He is having so much fun in the snow. He started obedience class three weeks ago and is the star pupil. The trainer used him for a demonstration and he got it on the very first try. J He is extremely bright. We still get compliments on him where ever we go, and always pass along your name. We hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Best Wishes,
Oscar's Mom

Hi Laura,

We just wanted to email you and tell you what a joy Jake has been!
He has now be renamed Scooter due to his love of following the boys
around on their scooters. He is truly the most calm, loving, happy
dog we could have imagined. I can't tell you how many neighbors have
remarked on his calm temperament and can hardly believe he is a puppy.

The only "trouble" he has gotten into is that he ate Benjamin's
homework this week! :) That was a funny story to have to tell his
teacher, but fortunately she has a great sense of humor.
We go to puppy training class each week and that's where I can really
tell that we've hit the jackpot.
He is so cooperative and willing, and noticeably calmer than the other
dogs. The teacher often uses him as the example when teaching a new skill, and I can only guess it's because he knows Scooter will
cooperate.

I will send pictures soon. Right now the files I have are so big and
I need to reduce them. He is growing quickly (32 lbs now) and is such
a joy to have around!

Thanks again for all you do...you do a great job breeding and raising
your puppies.

Laura,

It's been a while since I talked to you last, but I wanted to share with you a picture of Ace.  He's right at 8 months now and he's the best dog we've ever had.  He can do all kinds of tricks and minds very well.  He loves spending time with our kids.  He weighs about 65 pounds so he's a big boy, but he's big in love too.Every thing I read about Labradoodles is true.  Thanks for helping us find the perfect dog.

Sincerely,
Ace's family
